The earliest records of boxing taking place occur around the third millennium B.C and the sport has not changed much since it was created. It is a combat and martial art sport which involves two people fighting against each other, and either adults or kids boxing can take place at almost any age. The people fight by using their fists, but boxing gloves cover them. Opponents compete in a boxing ring and are supervised by a referee. In order to make the fights fair, boxing matches usually pit two people in the same weight class against one another.

There are a few different ways to win a match. You can either knock out your opponent, or if the opponent does not get up after the referee counts to ten or is declared too injured to continue fighting, you win the match. If none of these happen after the designated number of rounds, it will be up to a panel of judges to decide on the winner. Each match consists of many rounds and a round is a segment of fighting that is usually one to three minutes in length.

Boxing is not just a sport for adults – kids boxing is becoming a lot more popular lately as well. When there is a kid boxing in the ring instead of an adult, there are not too many different rules and not much difference in the type of equipment needed, although some minor changes need to be made and some added safety precautions taken due to their size.

Since kids are amateurs and not professionals, they are required to wear protective face wear, but that rule applies to all ages. They still wear the same clothing as an adult. That means that their uniform consists of shorts, a shirt with no sleeves, and soft soled shoes. Because punches are being thrown, there is some protective equipment that kids need to wear, but adults do as well. Besides a face mask, they also need a mouth guard, and of course kids boxing gloves, since their smaller hands will not fit into adult sized gloves. All of these components can be found in a kids boxing set, which is basically just an easier way to buy all of the kids boxing equipment needed in one easy way.

When your child first decides to take up boxing, you are going to need to enroll them into some boxing classes for kids. It is better to have them with just other kids of their own age and size, so that they are not intimidated by older boxers. The instructors at these boxing lessons will teach kids all of the fundamentals of boxing. Kids will learn their own style of boxing, but also how to take uppercuts, how to protect themselves, how to counter punch, and will learn the basics of all types of boxing moves.

Not only will they learn how to punch and fight, but they will learn how to be agile on their feet and how to read an opponent’s next move. You do not want to be left out there in the ring not knowing what is going on, because you can get beaten quickly. Even though punching is the offensive move in boxing, kids still need to learn defense which is if not more important, just as important, as any offensive moves. Boxing lessons for kids will teach them how to do everything that they need to compete in a boxing match and a good kids boxing instructor will also address the mental aspect of the game in addition to the physical aspect.

Boxing is a great sport to help kids get into shape and for them to participate in, and kids boxing classes can be a great way for them to build confidence and discipline as well. More and more kids nowadays are starting boxing at younger and younger ages. If your child decides that he wants to try boxing, then you just need to get him the basic kids boxing equipment in the proper size geared to his age and ability and find him a suitable teacher. Boxing is a relatively inexpensive sport to participate in because there is not much equipment required, and whatever equipment there is, is not that expensive.

Boxing is a good way to build muscle and confidence in a kid. Professionals like Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, and George Forman all started young, so maybe your kid can be as good as they were someday if they start as a child and continue working hard throughout the years to come. And even if they don’t become boxing legends, participation in kids boxing lessons will provide great exercise, as well as other mental, physical and social benefits that are worth fighting for anyway!
